An Overview of the Project Management Professional Certification Program

Project Management Professional designation is an internationally acknowledged professional designation provided by the Project Management Institute (PMI). Currently as of 31 December 2020, there are 1,032,849 active PMP certified professionals and 495 chartered branches worldwide and as of 31 March 2020 there were 6,711 participants in the first Project Management Professionals PMP exam dumps.

A Project Management professional is employed to manage and oversee projects that deal with many different aspects of different types of organizations including public institutions and businesses. This designation covers a wide range of activities and projects. Generally speaking, a PMP certification involves skills relating to project planning, design, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and execution and control.

A Project manager can be an individual or a team leader who can also perform other managerial duties such as planning and coordinating all the aspects of the project from the planning to the execution and monitoring the performance of the project. The role of a PMP professional is that of a liaison between the project manager and the stakeholders. The skills of a PMI professional involve effective communication, organization, negotiation, and problem-solving, and also the ability to identify problems and propose solutions. The skills required to become a Project Manager are in fact the skills required to become an effective project manager, which include the ability to work with people of diverse cultures and learning skills such as problem solving and teamwork.

There are two types of Project Management certification: Professional Management and Supervisory Management. As the name suggests these are different certifications and they differ in their level of recognition. Professional Management is not recognized by employers but is much easier to achieve. It is not recognized by other workers in the industry but the requirements are low in nature, as it covers only the areas of project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and control. The process is usually completed after one year as long as the candidate has the required knowledge and skills.

The Supervisory Management Certification is more demanding as the exam is tougher and requires more advanced skills and knowledge. To qualify for this certification, the candidates must have the same job responsibilities as a Project Manager and must have completed the project in a year. Once you have qualified for this certification, your resume will have the letter of recommendation from the employer and the project team that supervised the project. You must complete the examination within a certain time frame, as indicated in the schedule of the exam.

As of the time of writing, there are currently 4 exams available for the Professional Management and Supervisory Management designation. The Project Management Association (PMA) has set the examination dates at various periods throughout the year and the examination fees and conditions are posted on their website.
